Effective date: August 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how RF Link - Signal Strength, LOS (the "app", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the app. It applies to the app on both Google Play (Android) and the Apple App Store (iOS). By using the app you agree to the practices described in this policy.
RF Link - Signal Strength, LOS is a radio propagation planning tool. The app:
If you use features that require location (for example choosing transmitter or receiver positions on a map, or using device-based location input), the app will request location permission. Location is used only to populate coordinates and map display, and only while you are using the app. You may deny or revoke location permission at any time; denying permission will not prevent you from using the majority of app features (you can manually enter coordinates).
The app stores your radio planning inputs locally on the device (using SharedPreferences on Android and the equivalent local storage on iOS). This includes transmitter/receiver coordinates, frequency, antenna heights, advanced parameters, and terrain sampling preferences. These values remain on your device until you change or clear them.
When you run a propagation calculation or generate a coverage map, the app sends the input parameters to a remote processing endpoint operated by the app owner. The data sent is the set of numeric parameters required for the radio model — coordinates, frequency, antenna heights, gains and losses. The server returns calculation results and, optionally, plot or heat-map images which the app displays. These calculation inputs are not stored after the result has been returned.
The app allows a limited number of free calculations each month. So that this works without asking you to create an account or sign in, the app sends a per-device identifier to our server together with a count of how many free calculations have been used.
The record we store contains only this identifier, a usage count and the calendar month. It is not linked to your name, email address, Apple Account or Google Account, is not used for advertising, and is not used to track you across other companies’ apps or websites. The counter resets each month.
If you use the “Send Message” or feedback feature, your message is stored in a spreadsheet used by the app owner as an inbox. The message may include your name, subject, and contact email or phone number if you choose to provide them. These entries are visible to the app owner.
The app may collect non-personal technical information required for normal operation (app version, operating system version, device model). The app does not collect analytics or crash logs unless you have explicitly enabled such a feature.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. We may share information with:
The app integrates with third-party services that have their own privacy policies:
Messages you submit through the app are relayed to the owner’s inbox by the backend server; the app itself does not access the spreadsheet directly.
The app offers optional in-app purchases: a one-time lifetime unlock and an auto-renewable monthly subscription. Both unlock unlimited calculations; the app is otherwise usable with a limited number of free calculations per month.
All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), depending on where you installed the app. We never receive, see, or store your payment card, UPI or bank details. The app receives only a confirmation from the store that a purchase is valid.
The app stores locally whether you hold an active purchase. On Android it also stores the purchase token needed to manage or cancel a subscription on your behalf.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same price and period until cancelled. You can view, manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings (iOS) or Google Play subscriptions (Android). Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information on the device and in transit (all API calls use HTTPS). However, no system is completely secure — please avoid sending highly sensitive personal data through the app or in messages to the app owner.
The app is a technical tool intended for a general and professional audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and to receive a copy of it in a portable form. To exercise any of these rights, contact the app owner at the address below.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: we process your information in order to provide the app you have requested (performance of a contract) and to operate the free-trial limit and keep the service secure (our legitimate interests). Where the app asks for location, that processing is based on the permission you grant, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
The app owner’s servers run on Google Cloud Platform and are located outside the EEA and the UK, including in India. Where information is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by the relevant cloud provider’s data-processing terms.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the new policy.
